Online Portal for McLaren GT

This ecommerce site needed to showcase the parts available for online purchase as well as providing access to news and technical updates. With over 2000+ parts for sale, it was important that this information be presented in an engaging way that met McLaren GT's brand guidelines.

Ecommerce

Much like the car, our ecommerce system was built for speed. Despite the wealth of content, the website offers exceptionally fast loading times.

We also made navigation a priority, dividing the parts into clear categories and subcategories. Interactive CAD images illustrating the parts add clarity and enhance the customer experience.

Secure Login

The vision was to create a 'one-stop shop' for the car, offering parts and technical support in an easy, yet exclusive-feeling way.

We recognised that speed and usability were priorities, as many users would need to access the site from trackside. We also had to consider the large amount of parts and technical information available and ensure that this didn't effect the loading time.

Interactive CAD

McLaren customers needed to easily identify the parts from the CAD drawings. Due to the complexity and size of the CAD drawings we created a responsive zoom tool that enabled the user to zoom into a hi-res version of the drawings making it simple to order the correct parts.

Multiple Cars

Although the initial app started off with one car, McLaren soon scaled their offering and 4+ cars later the web app scaled easily as the cars and parts reached 10k+.

Third Party Stock Integration

McLaren already had a robust stock and order management system installed in-house. DA created an API that integrated the customer focused website to McLaren's internal software.

With a 2-way sync of stock and order information this substantially reduced McLaren's admin when managing customer cars and orders.

Truck Ordering Module

After a short while, the web app was being used worldwide to order parts, however McLaren wanted to adapt the app and enable the McLaren truck to take and deliver orders track side.

DA added an option to add truck stock that was available to enable the customer and their teams order critical parts over a race weekend.
